It seems that PayPal is really decided to put an end to scamming and to show the whole world who is a real leader on the market of secure online solutions. So, not so long ago PayPal was speaking about three-way struggle against phishing. And here is a new step in the struggle against Internet fraud. PayPal says allowing customers to make financial transactions on unsafe browsers "is equal to a car manufacturer allowing drivers to buy one of their vehicles without seat belts."

First announced in January at the Consumer Electronics Show, the Visa Mobile Platform initiative, developed by Visa International's Strategic Partnerships and Innovation group, has the ambitious objective of laying "the foundation for the commercial availability of mobile payments and services to millions of mobile users around the world."

Western Union just wanted a way to make it easier for immigrants in the U.S. to remit funds to relatives abroad. So last year the company set up a trial with wireless carrier Trumpet Mobile to let people send cash via cell phone.

But Western Union (WU) got more than it bargained for. Soon, parents were using the service to send college kids money for textbooks; restaurant goers began using it to split dinner checks.
