Adobe Flash is reported to have another flaw invisible for almost all anti-virus

Adobe is developing a patch to its Flash media player to address a critical vulnerability exploited in targeted attacks to install malware on users’ PCs. According to a blog post written by an independent security researcher Mila Parkour the attacks are launched using emails that attach a Microsoft Word document that contains a booby-trapped Flash file.

Windows feature to connect to IPv6 opens door for massive data hijack

A new way to hijack Windows machines was found by researchers in the course of some experiments. Experts at InfoSec Institute, an information security services company, tried the MITM, or man-in-the-middle, attacks that exploit features that present in recent versions of Windows to make it easy for computers to connect to networks using the next generation IPv6 protocol.

According to Jack Koziol, a program manager at InfoSec Institute, the attack may also exploit features of Apple's OS X for Macs, however the proof-of-concept has not been tested on that platform.

Linux machines are vulnerable to autorun based malware attacks

Linux running PCs are vulnerable to Windows oriented autorun style attacks as it was proved by a security researcher. Jon Larimer, of IBM's X-Force security division, conducted a research and found that autorun is not absolutely extraneous to Linux architecture. Larimer developed a demo to show how it might be possible to insert a USB stick with modified code into a Ubuntu PC to get rid of a screensaver without entering a password – and display the user's desktop.
