Baidu unveils is 30,000 applications web browser

Baidu, Chinese search engine giant, has started offering its new beta web browser that features a collection of 30,000" apps" that can quickly connect users to online games, videos and other tools.

Monday a beta version of Baidu Browser was launched. The browser is marketed as "simple and reliable", sporting secure navigation protected against malware infiltration. The browser is equipped with a "treasure house" feature, which functions like an app store.

Bing’s search results will be delivered to Baidu’s web pages

A Chinese search engine giant Baidu entered into an agreement with Microsoft to offer English-language search results to Baidu’s users.

As a part of the partnership users will be able to enter English-language queries into Baidu’s search box to automatically activate Bing and Bing’s search results will be delivered to Baidu's Web pages, Baidu said in an emailed statement on Monday.

Analysts said the tie-up would help Bing to gain greater access to China's more than 450 million Internet users and further dent Google's business in the country.

Android smartphones load web pages 52% faster than the iPhones

Android based smartphones perform better than the iPhones when it comes to loading web pages. Blaze.io, a mobile website optimization company, conducted the study that involved over 40,000 downloads of web pages belonging to the Fortune 1000 companies.

The study revealed that the iPhone loaded web pages 52% longer than Android and on average Android took 2.1 seconds to render non–mobile-optimized web pages, while the iPhone took 3.2 seconds. Android phones outdid the iPhone on site-loading time by 84% of the time.

Web pages will be able to talk and listen to human voice

A new activity group in the W3C (World Wide Consortium) is exploring the task of incorporating voice recognition and speech synthesis interfaces within Web pages. A new incubator group will file a report a year from now summarizing the feasibility of adding voice and speech features into HTML, the W3C's standard for rendering Web pages.

Among other companies AT&T, Google, Microsoft and the Mozilla Foundation also have their own task forces who participate in the research.
