News Corp under investigation in the United States over bribery allegations

After a pho-hacking stir in Britain, News Corp is facing an investigation by US authorities for possible violation of the bribery laws. Employees of News of the World tabloid were accused of hacking into personal voicemail and paying bribes.

News Corp could face scrutiny in the United States if any of the allegations is found true and violate the US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.

That law makes it a crime for any company with U.S. ties to bribe foreign officials to obtain or retain business.

Google has found at least its partner to make Google Voice service working on a large mobile network. The company has partnered with Sprint to integrate mobile phones with the Internet telephony to let users attach a single number to multiple phones and further turn voicemail messages into emails, send free texts, make free domestic calls, and dial international numbers at lower prices.

On Thursday Google will reportedly introduce its new product Google Voice that combines traditional phone features with Google's Gmail email. The new service will allow users to store transcripts of voicemail phone messages in their email inbox and to find a specific nugget of information within a phone message as if trawling through a sea of emails, reports Reuters.
