VocaLink announces integration of OneVu’s EBPP service

As it became known, VocaLink acquired joint venture partner Fiserv to take complete ownership of electronic bill presentment and payment (EBPP) specialist OneVu, designed to enable UK consumers to view, track and pay bills within their usual online banking service. However, the financial details have not been unveiled. 

Miles Quitmann, the managing director of OneVu is quitting the company. So, OneVu will be integrated into VocaLink's service portfolio under Fred Bar, MD, euro services.

Monitise continues global growth

Monitise is continuing with its global domination plans after smashing through its one million customer targets for 2009.
The Morse spin-off now has 1.3 million customers in the UK and US, and is setting its sights on the Asia-Pacific region after signing a deal with Hong Kong direct investment firm Far Eastern this week.
As a result of the deal, the first Monitise mobile banking services are expected to be available in Asia-Pacific through banks and financial institutions in the region next year.

Monitise pays initial £1.5m to secure full ownership and control of Monilink

The Morse spin-off initially owned 50 % of the business, but has agreed to pay its former partner VocaLink an initial £1.5m in cash over three years to secure the other 50 % of the business. Under the terms of the agreement, VocaLink will continue to provide Monilink with full access to its banking and payments infrastructure in return for services fees. It could also pocket a further £1.5m if Monilink exceeds its financial performance targets between now and 30 June 2013.

Faster Payments Service made £26bn in one day

According to Apacs payments industry association, Faster Payments Service (FPS) has made 3.9 million payments on 1 December 2008. This became a new daily record for the company, reports Silicon.com.

In the first six months of its operation starting May 2008, FPS had processed 63 million payments worth £26bn.

More financial institutions subscribed for Monitise Americas

New 23 financial institutions in the USA adopted the mobile services of Monitise Americas, a joint venture between the UK's Monitise and US fintech group Metavante. Among the companies that recently joined the service there are community banks, credit unions and pre-paid providers. Monitise Americas offers mobile banking and payments services on an "ecosystem" principle which implies a single platform for multiple carriers and financial institutions to deliver their services.
