Verizon Wireless to pay $10 billion

Verizon Wireless will pay a $10 billion dividend early next year to its stakeholders Vodafone Group Plc and Verizon Communications.

According to the statement Vodafone will be paid $4.5 billion, or $1 billion less than the amount the British company's chief financial officer, Andy Halford, had said he expected as recently as June 30.

The payouts will be made on the basis of the stake owned by each parent company. 45% share belongs to Vodafone while the rest is owned by Verizon Communications.

Internet giants Google, Facebook, Amazon, Twitter and a slew of other high-profile tech companies weighed in on new rules that are currently being written to keep the Internet open.

The CEOs of of those companies, along with some telecommunications and media firms, such as EchoStar and XO Communications, sent a letter to the Federal Communications Commission chairman Julius Genachowski on Monday supporting his efforts to create official regulation that protects Net Neutrality.

Verizon prolongs contract with Fiserv

According to Fiserv, Inc, Verizon Communications has renewed its contract with the company. Fiserv will be providing electronic billing and payments services to Verizon for several more years. 

Through the use of the services offered by Fiserv, Verizon can continue to offer electronic billing its more than 100 million wireless and landline customers.
