VeriFone Systems Inc launched PAYMEDIA for its PCI 2.0-approved Secure PumpPAY solution for pay-at-the-pump. PAYMEDIA was developed to provide an entertaining and engaging mix of content and advertising to enhance the customer’s experience at the gas pump while generating profits for convenience operators.

According to the official statement PAYMEDIA for Secure PumpPAY is powered by the VeriFone Digital Network (VNET), currently playing in more than 10,000 taxi cabs throughout the United States and the United Kingdom.

Department of Justice sues VeriFone and Hypercom

A civil antitrust lawsuit was filed by the Justice Department against the acquisition by VeriFone Systems Inc. of Hypercom Corp. In the official statement the DOJ said that the deal would substantially trim the competition in the market of point-of-sale terminals in America which in turn would result in higher prices and lame innovation.

While Hypercom and VeriFone proposed their plan to fix the antitrust concerns it failed to adequately resolve those concerns, says the Department.

VeriFone Holdings, Inc. today announced a licensing agreement for deployment of its taxi payment and media solutions in South Africa. The agreement with iMobilise Transportation Systems (iMTS) will modernize taxis in time for the World Cup in June.

Court schedules hearing on Heartland’s case against VeriFone, a scandal is on

 Heartland Payment Systems gained an approval of its application with the New Jersey Federal Court on Monday. The payment processor asked for an order to show cause against VeriFone Holdings Inc. An expedited hearing on Heartland‘s injunction on its Lanham Act false-advertising claims was scheduled for December 7. Meantime, VeriFone’s request to transfer these claims to the Northern District of California was denied by the court. Besides, VeriFone took down the website that was using the Heartland name to lure Heartland customers.
