WorldPay teams up with RSA for better cardholder verification

A global payment service provider WorldPay is partnering with RSA, The Security Division of EMC dealing, to support the cardholder verification processes in the US and UK when RSA provides RSA® Adaptive Authentication for eCommerce authentication services for major card associations.

As part of RSA’s ecommerce security services, RSA now incorporates the WorldPay Risk Guardian platform, one of the leading ecommerce platforms in the industry, to help it process card owner verification checks.

Google makes your verification go in two steps: more security?

Users of Google services will now be better protected with the newly launched 2-step verification system.

The 2-step verification includes your password and code you get via your phone.

Google explained in its post on the official blog: “Take your time to carefully set up 2-step verification—we expect it may take up to 15 minutes to enroll. A user-friendly set-up wizard will guide you through the process, including setting up a backup phone and creating backup codes in case you lose access to your primary phone.”

More secure sign-in functionality was added by Google for its Google Apps accounts. Now users log in with a two step verification. Google says this "significantly increases the security of the cloud."

Michael Barrett here, PayPal’s Chief Information Security Officer reported on the company blog about the new tools introduced by Google to protect Internet users from bogus mail sent by scammers to defraud unwitting victims and steal their personal data. In addition to already existing digital “sign” that PayPal attaches to all its outbound e-mail to make it easier for ISPs to verify that it comes from paypal.com, Google introduces a new verification feature.

Verified by Visa gets more convenient, customers to use SMS password

A new SMS-based verification system was recently introduced to replicate Verified by Visa authentication system with fewer complications for users. Visa signed a partnership agreement with banks in China and Taiwan to launch a new one-time password system that deploys SMS text messaging. With the SMS verification service cardholders will be able to authenticate themselves when making online purchases.
