First Data Corporation is partnering with VeriFone Systems on a new VeriFone edition of the First Data TransArmor solution for U.S. multi-lane and petroleum merchants.

The new solution will allow businesses who use VeriFone's MX 800 series of devices, Secure PumpPay and the Ruby point-of-sale (POS) solutions to take advantage of a complete security solution combining VeriFone's VeriShield encryption along with tokenization technology from RSA, the Security Division of EMC Corporation.

First Data Corp announced that now its First Data® TransArmorSM solution is publicly available. Now merchant of all sizes can avail of the service via First Data’s network of resale partners. First Data anticipates that more than 100,000 merchants will be securely processing transactions with the TransArmor solution by the end of the year.

Visa Inc. has announced today global industry best practices for tokenization to provide guidance to merchants, vendors, service providers and acquirers and promote safer merchant payment environments. Based on Visa's experience working with the industry and also insights from data compromise investigations, the tokenization best practices are the latest in a series of guidance to help merchants reduce or eliminate sensitive card data from payment systems and simplify data security and compliance efforts. 

ProPay has added encryption and tokenization of Automated Clearing House (ACH) data (bank routing and account numbers) to its suite of ProtectPay services. According to the official report after ProPay captures, encrypts, and processes the ACH data, the data is replaced with a token which organizations can use for future transactions against the data.
