Interpol seeks to arrest WikiLeaks owner Julian Assange

Julian Assange is facing an arrest as Interpol has issued a Red Notice in his name. The global police agency seeks to arrest the WikiLeaks owner for suspected sex crimes just two days after his website started publishing some 250,000 highly embarrassing diplomatic cables. The worldwide wanted poster says an arrest warrant has been issued by the International Public Prosecution Office in Gothenburg, Sweden. Officials there said two weeks ago that they would seek his arrest in connection with allegations he had nonconsensual sex with two women while visiting that country in August.

Man can be killed at work by his own negative emotions

Men who bottle up their anger at being unfairly treated at work are up to five times more likely to suffer a heart attack, or even die from one, than those who let their frustration show, a Swedish study has found.

The study by the Stress Research Institute of Stockholm University followed 2,755 employed men who had not suffered any heart attacks from 1992 to 2003.

“iTunes killer”  Spotify  launches its iPhone service

Spotify, the Swedish music streaming service that has been known as “iTunes killer” because of its ease of use and its comprehensive, free library of millions of songs, unveiled its plans to implement its first mobile application.

Spotify has already submitted the application to Apple's iTunes App Store for the approval. If approved, the service will be available for users to download onto iPhones. Customers will also be enabled to stream playlists.

Pro-internet piracy party aims at receiving EU seats

According to The Times report, the Pirate Party, a single-issue Swedish group that campaigns to encourage internet copyright infringement, is going to win several seats in the European parliament. The pro-file-sharing party is Sweden's third biggest political group according to a poll ahead of the upcoming European election. The Pirate Party’s youth league has 20,300 members which is more than twice as many as the youth league of Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt’s Moderate Party.

A malfunctioning robot can kill a human: a precedent in Sweden

A factory north of Stockholm has been fined 25,000 kronor (£2,100) after a malfunctioning bot nearly killed one of the workers, states Swedish online rag, The Local.

The situation had taken place in 2007, when a man attempted to repair a defective machine used to lift rocks without properly checking the power supply beforehand. Consequently, the machine latched on to the man's head and went about its work.

According to The Associated Press release, on Friday Stockholm court will hear a case concerning four men that broke Swedish copyright law by running and funding the Web site, which has become the entertainment industry's enemy No. 1 after successful court actions against file-swapping sites such as Grokster and Kazaa.
