Goldman Sachs was subpoenaed for disregard for the crisis panel

The Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission, who probes the financial crisis, subpoenaed Goldman Sachs Group over its failure to hand in the relevant documents to the panel. Instead of providing the necessary files and grant interviews in connection with the panel's probe Goldman flooded the panel with 2.5 billion pages of records.

Responding to the panel’s request for the documents the company produced 5 terabytes of records, with each terabyte containing 500 million pages of digitized records, FCIC Chairman Phil Angelides told reporters on a conference call.

US Justice Department subpoenas Sony over anti-trust violations

 U.S. optical disc drive operations of Sony Corporation are under the probe of the regulators for possible violations of anti-trust laws. The company reported that it had received a subpoena from the U.S. Department of Justice's antitrust division.

Sony Optiarc America supplies a lineup of optical disc drives, including those for DVDs, CD-ROMs, CD-Rs and Blu-ray discs.

"Other countries are also seeking information on the state of competition in optical disc drives," Sony spokesperson said.

On Thursday New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo issued subpoenas to 14 debt settlement companies and one law firm on the grounds of predatory practices. In a statement Cuomo noted that some companies falsely represent they can reduce a consumer's credit card debt by as much as 75% through negotiations, take their fees upfront, and then keep the fees even when services are not provided.

Attorney General "severely disappointed" in BofA’s refusal to report bonuses

Bank of America was subpoenaed by the New York Attorney General’s office. The financial institution was required to provide a list of managers who received bonuses and amounts of money they were granted.

As long as the BofA failed to provide the information on bonuses which made the attorney general to be "severely disappointed" the legal office served the bank with a subpoena to obtain the information.
