American Express introduces new Chairman and President

American Express Company has announced the names of new executive and Board of Directors. According to the company’s statement Daniel H. Schulman, previously worked as President of Sprint's Prepaid group will become a President of the newly-created Enterprise Growth Group. Also AmEx has appointed Ted Leonsis, a Chairman of Revolution Money and AOL, to its Board of Directors and named him Chairman of a new Innovation and Technology Committee of the Board.

American Express acquires Revolution Money online payment system

 American Express Co is purchasing online payment system Revolution Money for $300 million, the credit card company and network reported today. The transaction is scheduled to be closed in the first quarter of 2010. The deal is subject to regulatory review.

Jason Hogg, founder and chief executive officer of Revolution Money, will continue as president and CEO of the company.

Revolution Money raises multimillion investment

A PayPal competitor Revolution Money announced this week that it raised a funding of $45 million from a group that includes a Goldman Sachs affiliate and earlier investors Citigroup and Morgan Stanley, reports Reuters. An online payment service backed by AOL co-founder Steve Case, Revolution Money is a part of Washington-based Revolution LLC.
