Proposal to include FM into mobile phones is strongly opposed by trade groups

A proposal by the radio and recording industries to require all mobile devices in the US to include Fm receivers was strongly opposed by trade groups who represent electronics makers and mobile carriers.

The proposal on FM inclusion from the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB), comes as the trade group attempts to come to an agreement with a group affiliated with the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) in a long-standing battle over whether radio stations should pay royalties to record labels and performers for playing their songs.

TV’s popularity leaves Internet’s on the second position

Television appears to be a leader in purchasing decision influence in five major markets (US, UK, Japan, Germany and Brazil), leaving the second position even for Internet as well traditional media: magazines, newspapers and radio. That was shown by the Deloitte market study in September and October 2008.

Television dominate despite the fact that majority of consumers in all this five countries say their computers were used more for entertainment than their TVs.
