Firethorn, a subsidiary of Qualcomm, announced that American Apparel has subscribed to its upcoming SWAGG mobile service. SWAGG was developed by Firethorn to allow customers to purchase, personalize and exchange gift cards directly from a mobile device. SWAGG will also provide consumers mobile access to account information, special offers and loyalty programs.

A TechCrunch contributor Steve Cheney speculated on the facts that point to the high probability of Apple’s plans to launch iPhone 4 on Verizon network in January next year.

Thus, Cheney notes that usually baseband for iPhone 4 like phones comes from Infineon and its GPS chipset from Broadcom.
