US to prosecute people and nations for cyber attacks and scams worldwide

Under a bill introduced Tuesday in the Senate foreign countries that benign neglected to cybercrime will lose US financial assistance and resources.

The International Cybercrime Reporting and Cooperation Act is to require the President to identify "countries of cyber concern" and to plot a course to help each one get tougher on cybercrime.

Those countries that don't reach prescribed benchmarks would face economic penalties in the form of cuts to trade assistance grants, US export dollars and foreign-direct investment funds.

60% less Americans believe in Obama's policy

According to the Associated Press, Americans are losing confidence in President Barack Obama. As a new national poll, conducted August, 13-17, declares, people are anxious over the future of health care reform and worry about the growing federal budget deficit. 

 As it was found by Washington Post-ABC News research, only 49% believe the president will make the right decisions for the country. That's down from 60% at the 100-day mark of the Obama presidency.

27% of Japanese executives expect economy to worsen against 95.6% in March

The Nikkei business daily released a poll of Japan's business leaders who expressed more optimism in their expectations of the economic recovery in the country. While most of them believe that the full recovery is unlikely to come earlier than 2010, half of the presidents and chairmen of 137 major companies said they thought that the domestic economy had improved or showed signs of recovery when compared with six months ago.

Americans believe Obama and blame financial institutions for crisis

The new poll results provided by Washington Post/ABC News showed that U.S. President Barack Obama was found to have very little guilt in the current state of the U.S. economy.

80 percent in the respondents blamed banks, financial institutions and corporations in the economic meltdown. About 70 percent also blamed consumers for taking too much debt and the former Bush administration for careless regulation.

This week a court sentenced a wife of Frederick Chiluba to a three-and-a-half years imprisonment after chief resident magistrate, Charles Kafunda, found her guilty on five counts of failing to account for properties suspected to have been stolen.

The lawsuit was suing the wife of the Zambia president who faced three counts of failing to account for properties involving US$188,000 suspected to have been stolen or unlawfully obtained, and one count of failing to account for a motor vehicle in her possession.

Randall S. Kroszner submitted his resignation Monday as a member of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, effective January 21, 2009.
