American Express Company has announced the names of new executive and Board of Directors. According to the company’s statement Daniel H. Schulman, previously worked as President of Sprint's Prepaid group will become a President of the newly-created Enterprise Growth Group. Also AmEx has appointed Ted Leonsis, a Chairman of Revolution Money and AOL, to its Board of Directors and named him Chairman of a new Innovation and Technology Committee of the Board.

2008 Study of Consumer Payment Preferences conducted by BAI Research and Hitachi Consulting, and sponsored by First Data, MasterCard Worldwide, Metavante, and PULSE showed that the users of traditional methods of payment are decreasing. 41 percent of respondents said today they were using cash less often than two years ago.

RBS WorldPay has been hacked. Hundred cardholders affected

RBS WorldPay (formerly RBS Lynk), the U.S. payment processing arm of The Royal Bank of Scotland Group, has announced that its computer system had been improperly accessed by an unauthorized party. 

The issue, which affected pre-paid cardholders and other individuals, was identified on November 10 and law enforcement agencies and federal regulators were notified by RBS WorldPay shortly thereafter.
