Americans do not believe in the future of the country and in Obama

According to the recent poll conducted by NY Times and CBS News the majority of the Americans are pessimistic about the future of their country economy. As of the results of the poll less than one quarter of the Americans think that the economy will improve (23%), and 70% are sure that they develop in a wrong direction.

According to a new online poll conducted by YouGov among 6200 adults, about 32% of British notebook computers have been swiped from homes.

This data can be compared to UK’s European neighbours France and Germany, where the numbers were 22% and 17%, respectively.

As the pollster added, the proportion of recent laptop thefts that took place in US and Canada homes were only 18% and 17%, respectively.

Still, these figures also show that you're more likely to lose your laptop while it's out and about with you.

Google's Android beats iPhone’s popularity

According to new data from ComScore, Google's Android is increasingly attracting attention, gaining more and more popularity among consumers.


Moreover, the survey shows that the number of consumers planning to buy Android mobile devices has more than doubled since summer 2009, while the number of those planning to buy iPhones has slightly decreased. Meantime, the poll says the majority of consumers are still looking at BlackBerry smartphones.

The Harris Poll held this year has showed that the confidence in the leaders of major institutions has increased substantially comparing to the results of the last year with fourteen out of the sixteen items listed have showed a rise in confidence. Overall, The Harris Poll Confidence Index has increased by ten points this year from 44 in 2008 to 54.

Credit.com released the results of the survey conducted for National Consumer Protection Week (March 1-8) according to which a third (33.7%) of consumers have been subject to some changes to their credit accounts. The greatest amount (15%) of the respondents’ interest rates was increased, following with increasing minimum payment due of 11% of the respondents.

A cross sectional online poll surveyed by the Harris Interactive found that Obama was mentioned as their heroes most often among 2,634 adults in the U.S. whereas Jesus Christ made it to the second most mentioned. The top ten was comprised of the following heroes in descending order: Ronald Reagan, George W. Bush, Abraham Lincoln, John McCain, John F. Kennedy, Chesley Sullenberger and Mother Teresa.

52% Americans are sure that the economy will get worse in 2009

Harris Interactive, a custom market research company has revealed the results of the Harris Poll intended to learn the attitude of people towards the economy and their financial situation. So, according to the results 56% of all the polled adults say that, compared to last year, they feel less secure about their financial situation while 30% said they feel the same as a year before. And only 12% say that they feel more secure about their financial situation.
