Online gambling might be legalized in New Jersey??

A bill to legalize online gambling in New Jersey was recently introduced by Senator Raymond Lesniak (D-Union), who also introduced a separate bill which calls for New Jersey residents to vote on a constitutional amendment that would allow state-regulated sports wagering in Atlantic City casinos, and to state residents via an intra-state Internet gambling system.

Account Services asks a judge to order the return of seized online poker funds

San Diego-based Account Services Corporation, one of several online payment processors servicing U.S. players, has asked a federal judge to order the return of nearly $14 million, as it believes, was improperly seized by authorities from the U.S. Department of Justice’s Southern District of New York. Account Services was one of several payment processors targeted by the DoJ, with nearly $40 million – largely consisting of payments of winnings and returned deposits – being seized in early June.

European investigation finished. Will U.S. change online gambling laws?

The European Commission completed its report on the investigation into the U.S. measures affecting foreign providers of online gambling services. The report released last week resumes the probe that was launched after the Remote Gambling Association filed a complaint against the U.S. The work concludes that US laws deny access and discriminate against foreign suppliers of gambling and betting services inconsistently with US WTO obligations.
