Playtech has announced it would be adding sports betting to current offerings for online casinos, stated newonlinecasinos.org.

The enhancement will make Playtech offer to casinos a complete gaming package, added to online slot and table games. Casinos using Playtech software can now expand their businesses into the online sports gambling field. 

Walter Hrugle, one of the observers said, “Playtech has put themselves in the position to really take over and be the leader when it comes to online gambling software.” “It will be hard for other companies to keep up if the sports betting software is top quality,” added he.

Casino Gran Madrid deal sends Playtech shares up

Playtech shares went up 0.9 percent after the company had announced its agreement with Casino Gran Madrid aimed at providing casino and poker software.

Collins Stewart, the broker, has commented on the change by saying: "The Madrid region is one of the leaders of Spain's online gambling regulation drive, meaning the deal also reinforces Playtech's strengthening regulated position."

Rooms of CryptoLogic to be moved to Boss Media by the spring

CryptoLogic Network made an announcement that it will move all of its rooms to Boss Media by the end of March 2009. Justin Thouin, Vice President of Product Development for CryptoLogic, explained the decision to shed their online poker network as a move ‘to differentiate in the online casino space’. At the moment the company is offering over 200 casino games, including 60 that can be played within a customer’s web browser.
