Scottrade opens its 425th office

Leading online investment company Scottrade Monday opened its 425th branch in North Little Rock, Ark, extending its nationwide network. 

It is Scottrade’s second branch office in the Little Rock area and one of more than 50 branch offices scheduled to open across the country this year. As it’s known the other offices opening are to be located in Somers Point, N.J., and Portage, Mich.

As it became known, President Barack Obama proposals are opposed by Chamber of Commerce. Thus, the Chamber has emerged as a multitasking, multimillion-dollar defender of the private sector against presidential initiatives. As lawmakers spend time at home during their August vacation hearing from constituents, the chamber is adding its own heat to the season.

Standard Chartered plans to issue £1 billion worth of stocks

Tuesday, Standard Chartered unveiled its intention to issue £1 billion worth of new shares in a bid to develop opportunities appeared as the result of the global financial crisis.

Standard Chartered reported a 10% increase in pre-tax operating profit to $2.84 billion, that it had previously been forecasted of $2.49 billion.
