Reject Adobe Reader for another PDF viewer if you want to evade cyber attack

Adobe Systems Inc confirmed that it was investigating reports on Adobe Reader, its popular PDF viewing software, containing a critical vulnerability.

SecurityFocus site, that disclosed the bug first this week, posted a link to proof-of-concept attack code, saying the issue can be exploited by an attacker “to execute arbitrary code with the privileges of the user running the application." The site also noted that Reader 9.1 and Reader 8.1.4 were vulnerable, the Linux versions definitely contained the bug, and that versions for other platforms may be at risk as well.
