paysafecard, Europe’s popular prepaid voucher for Internet payments, is now available in the United States. The voucher enables consumers to use an easy and secure prepaid solution similar to cash for their online purchases. As it is the first product of its kind in the US market, American companies that accept paysafecard as a payment method can now reach out to new target groups.

Paysafecard group announced that Steam platform for PC and Mac games operated by Valve Corporation, is now accepting their prepaid voucher paysafecard.

The paysafecard vouchers were developed for users who don’t have a credit or debit card or who don’t want to use them for online purchases and other micro payments on the Internet. Thus users’ information remains private when making a transaction. Consumers enter a 16-digit PIN code to authorize payment.

European online payments provider paysafecard announced the appointment of Richard Knight as a new Director of the company’s UK-based subsidiary Prepaid Services Company Ltd.

Previously Richard Knight performed some risk management and compliance roles for Travelex, a global financial services company. In his latest position as Head of Compliance for the prepaid card and mobile payments division, he was responsible for all regulatory and compliance matters relating to Travelex’s prepaid card business which operates in over 30 countries worldwide.

GlobalCollect has expanded the coverage of paysafecard in Latin American market by increasing the number of countries where the service is offered. Now it is also available in Argentina. Paysafecard allows consumers to make online cash payments in their local currencies without any need in bank account or credit card.

paysafecard is being distributed via 3,500 outlets in Argentina, which will be the company's base for further expansion into Mexico.

A European online payment provider paysafecard group, entered into an agreement with wholesaler Lekkerland to supply Esso with their latest white label solution. Now more than 600 Esso stations across Germany offer their customers gift vouchers in denominations of €30, €50 and €100 via Lekkerland’s prepaid terminal “e-va“ (electronic value). Thus customers can use these vouchers to pay for fuel as well as for other purchases at affiliated shops.

 A European online payment services provider paysafecard was granted the “Leading Prepaid Organization 2009” award at the annual Prepaid Awards in London this week.

The ceremony was hosted on Tuesday, October 13, and gathered more than 300 key people from across the prepaid industry.

After the independent judges from eight European countries, all experts from the industry, had created a shortlist for each of the ten categories, the guests were asked to vote for the winners.
