PayPal is collaborating with Green Dot on special promotion

PayPal is delighted to announce, it’s working with Green Dot, MoneyPak provider, on a special promotion that is set to kick off today.

The certain promotion runs this year from September 1st through November 14th and will give $10 to all PayPal customers who try MoneyPak for the first time, as well as the chance to win $1,000 every day in a daily drawing.

eBay further bejewels its PayPal service by discarding Google Checkout

According to the latest reports an online auction giant eBay will no longer support Google Checkout payment system starting next July. Users won’t be allowed to use any checkout service except eBay’s own payment processor PayPal.

Explaining the move the company says it wants “to give eBay buyers a consistent, speedy checkout experience and to ensure support for fast-growing sales via mobile platforms...,” Todd Lutwak, eBay’s vice president of the seller experience, wrote in a little-noticed blog post last week.

WePay launched two Facebook applications to allow the members to collect money for events and groups.

With the first app dubbed Sell Tickets users can sell tickets for any Facebook event and creat an event directly from the app itself.

WePay’s second application the Collect Money allows members to collect money from members of any Facebook Group. All payments that take place are redirected to WePay’s site, ensuring security for credit card and bank account payments.

Consumers believe PayPal is more secure for online shopping than cards

According to a recent study by Cardbeat, ®, a syndicated market research report published by Auriemma Consulting Group (ACG), PayPal payment system is getting increasingly mainstream among consumers.

“More than three-quarters of our respondents said they have a PayPal account, a 40% increase since our 2008 Cardbeat study, when 55% of respondents had one,” says Nancy Stahl, editor of Cardbeat.
