Motorola launches netbook-powering Atrix smartphone on Orange

Motorola launches a netbook-powering Android smartphone, the Atrix which will run exclusively on Orange network.

A 1GHz dual-core handset the Atrix comes with 1GB of Ram and 16GB of on-board Flash storage.
The smartphone can power a netbook-like shell, available separately. The netbook, called Lapdock, 11.6in screen, keyboard and battery. The Atrix connects through a built-in dock, providing the unit's memory, storage and processing power. This offers access to a dedicated desktop-style UI, Firefox browser and QuickOffice suite.

HTC Mozart on Windows Phone 7 platform coming with Orange carrier appeared on the Internet before the announcement. But later "Sorry, an error occurred" appeared on the page on the Orange website.

The unannounced Windows Phone 7 handset popped up within Orange's support pages with a handy guide on replacing the phone's battery and inserting the Sim card.

Mozart is said to sport a 3.7in, 480 x 800 display, 8Mp camera with 720p video recording, 8GB of storage, 802.11n Wi-Fi, GPS and a 1GHz processor.

Barclaycard reported that it is deploying MasterCard's inControl technology so as to allow users of its Orange co-branded contactless credit card to set spending controls and receive real-time alerts about their accounts.
