Google launches an affiliate program to sell its eBooks

Google announced an affiliate program to allow publishers promote its eBook service on their websites for a certain pay.

Google will accept publishers of a variety of websites into the program, including online retailers, blogs and book publishers.

"Starting today, we invite all interested site owners to apply to join the expanded Google eBooks affiliate program. Participating sites gain new revenue streams by giving their book-reading audiences an easy way to buy Google eBooks," wrote Pratip Banerji, product manager at the Google Books team, in a blog post.

Taiwanese consumer agency fines Dell for not selling 19” LCD for just NT$500

On Thursday Taiwan's Consumer Protection Commission fined Dell NT$1 million (US$30,478, as of Thursday) for failing to meet sales obligations of heavily discounted products resulting from online pricing error. The computer maker held back sales of heavily discounted Latitude E4300 laptops and 19-inch monitors, after online glitches caused the product prices to drop to ridiculous figures.

eBay's payment system PayPal has announced about the new payment button designer and some innovations the company added. One of them is an inventory tracking feature that lets to set a product’s inventory level for each button created. Once the inventory becomes low, PayPal sends an email reminding that the product is almost out of stock. Also the users can choose the option that automatically disables the button when inventory depletes.
