Baidu will now provide only legal music downloads

Baidu signed an agreement with One-Stop China, a joint venture owned by Universal Music, Warner Music and Sony Music to distribute songs through its mp3 search service. It will put an end to years of criticism for sponsoring illegal mp3 downloads from its servers.

Baidu entered into a deal with One-Stop China for its music catalogues and new releases that can be streamed or downloaded from Baidu's servers.

In line with its unique strategy to become an open Internet service Yahoo Inc. is partnering with a number of other online music providers to integrate their services and products thus allowing Internet surfers to find most comprehensive and complete pack of music items in one shop. On Monday the company announced a new version of its Yahoo Music that accumulates both paid and free music available on the web with an opportunity for users to directly access and interact with the services from the Yahoo site.
