Russia says that a web banner killing Medvedev is “extremism”

Federal prosecutors in Russia launched an investigation into a telecom website that allowed visitors to shoot a cartoon person in a business costume that resembles President Dmitry Medvedev. In the section of a new Internet tariff called Moscow the telecom provider AlyansTelekom had a banner with a Medvedev look-alike cartoon popping up from behind the red-brick Kremlin walls.

Clicking their mouse users could shoot the cartoon effigy and send up a golden halo around his head.

On Thursday a film star and Twitter celebrity Ashton Kutcher was encouraging Russian Internet users to share their ideas via social networking websites. He addressed Russian auditorium during a visit by US technology leaders to Moscow.

Having over 4.5 million followers on microblogging site Twitter Kutcher starred at the number one film at the US box office "Valentine's Day."

"More importantly than anything I write, it's really about what you write on your blogs," Kutcher said at a press briefing.

The Russian government shut down all gaming halls today, leaving a third of a million people jobless. It will replace the casinos and gambling halls with Las Vegas-style gaming zones in four rarely visited regions which are reportedly in need of investment, including one near the North Korea border.

Mercer, a consulting, outsourcing and investment-services firm, released a study that determined most expensive cities in the world as regards to rent housing for employees sent on assignments overseas. The first place in the list was occupied by Moscow with Tokyo and Hong Kong filling the second and third positions respectively. In total the list covers 50 most popular for expatriate assignments cities, reports MarketWatch.

Forbes published a list of top 10 billionaire cities

A known magazine Forbes has published the list of the richest cities in the world. According to this reputable edition New York became home to more billionaires than any other city in the world. Here is the full  article published at forbes.com. 

After losing out to Moscow last year, New York is once again the primary residence of more billionaires than anywhere else in the world. And that's after it lost more than a fifth of its billionaires.
