MasterCard Launches MoneySend Mobile Service with Obopay

On Thursday MasterCard announced the availability in the USA of its MoneySend service, that ensures customers to send and receive funds through a text message, by a mobile Web browser, a mobile app, or over the Internet from a PC.

MasterCard believes customers will like a mobile, secure payment method that removes the necessity of writing or cashing checks, visiting ATMs, or wiring money, though the mobile payment category itself, which is still in its infancy in the USA.

MasterCard introduced today their fully-integrated, on-demand person-to-person (P2P) mobile payment platform for issuers in the United States which is set to go live later this month. Owing to this new platform, MasterCard participating bank customers will be able to offer Mobile MasterCard MoneySend(TM) P2P payments to their customers. Mobile MoneySend is the breakthrough consumer payment platform that provides a better way to send and receive funds via SMS-text, mobile browser, mobile applet or an Internet PC.
