Next week Facebook launches “something awesome”, Zuckerberg

Facebook is about to unveil a new feature next week, most likely in the mobile or tablet sector, said Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of the social networking giant.

In a visit to Facebook's Seattle office on Wednesday, Zuckerberg told reporters that the company plans to "launch something awesome" next week.

The project has been designed at the 40-person Seattle office, Facebook's only major engineering center outside of its Palo Alto, California, said Zuckerberg.

60% of the world to access 4G Internet

A new report from ABI Research says that over 60% of the world’s population will be able to access some form of 4G mobile broadband technology by 2015. According to ABI analyst Neil Strother between LTE and WiMAX, 4G technologies will reach an estimated 4.4 billion people within the next five years. This will make up more than double the 2 billion people today who currently have access to 3G mobile data technologies such as HSPA or EV-DO Rev. A, he says. ABI estimates that around 770 million users around the world today have access to either WiMAX or LTE services.

Yahoo! is benefiting from the opportunities available in the mobile Internet sector in India. Today the PC to Mobile ratio is 2:11 and the Indian mobile market is the fastest growing mobile market with nearly 10 million mobile subscribers added in November 2008 alone! But the difference in OS supported by mobile devices causes some obstacles in further developing additional services as long as non standardization in mobile results in that the content providers and advertisers suffer OS specification constraints and fail to reach all mobile users.
