US researchers create a microcomputer that can reside on a human eye

A new microcomputer has been created by researchers at the University of Michigan. The millimeter-scale computing system can store up to a week volume of data and can reside on something as small as a human eye. The computer, called the Phoenix chip, is just over one cubic millimeter in size and was designed to monitor eye pressure in glaucoma patients.

"This is the first true millimeter-scale complete computing system," Dennis Sylvester, a professor at the school and one of the researchers on the project, said in a statement.

Five year in prison may await a man for reading his wife’s email

On the basis of a Michigan statute typically used to prosecute crimes such as identity theft or stealing trade secrets a Rochester Hills man faces up to 5 years in prison. The charge incriminated to him is reading his wife's e-mail.

Leon Walker, 33, was charged with a felony after he logged onto a laptop in the home he shared with his wife, Clara Walker. Using her password, he accessed her Gmail account and learned she was having an affair. He now is facing a Feb. 7 trial. She filed for divorce, which was finalized earlier this month.

Number of job losses is still increasing

Every state of the US suffered from unemployment in December. And 2009 forecast doesn’t sound consolatory as this year expected not to be better than previous one. The unemployment picture is obliged to get worse in every region of the country. In 2008, the country lost 2.6 million jobs, and in 2009 at least 2 million more jobs are forecast to disappear.
