The Online Publishers Association published the results of its research into how brands are perceived across content in various online environments. The study looked at how environments like media publications (such as ESPN.com, iVillage, NYTimes.com, Wall Street Journal, etc.), portal channels (such as AOL News, MSN Money, Yahoo Sports, etc.), and social networks (Facebook, MySpace, etc.) influence content and advertisers.

Ulitzer, floated by Sys-Con - a New Jersey-based company, has called itself a new-age website that will somehow replace the cult of Wikipedia. 

Ulitzer is described as "a media website with...more than 1 million original stories, contributed by more than 6,000 authors." However, as it is known now many of these authors are not even aware they are contributing.

According to the new research top technology entities in the UK fail to estimate the potential of the social media site Twitter. ntl:Telewest Business reports that 1/5 of the largest technology companies in the country use Twitter as an online communication tool.

Stephen Beynon, managing director of ntl:Telewest Business, notes that such organizations as Mozilla and Sun Microsystems are a good illustration of what can be achievedwhen building business networks with Twitter.

YouTube once again the largest video service with 100 million users

YouTube has grown to have 100 million unique visits in January, says comScore. The fact makes YouTube the most widely viewed video service in the US again. The site was followed by Fox Interactive Media properties, Yahoo! sites, Microsoft sites, AOL, and Hulu. 

This could be explained by the fact that the users of YouTube generate the majority of its content eMarketer estimated that 9.1% of Internet users (18.1 million people) will create user-generated videos this year.
