Marketplace now accessible by users of Microsoft Windows Mobile 6

Now Microsoft’s Windows Marketplace for Mobile is available to phones running older versions of its mobile software, although not all of the apps may be available to all Windows Mobile users.
The users of phones running Windows Mobile 6.0 and 6.1 can now shop for and download apps from its Marketplace, according to Microsoft. Initially only the users of Microsoft's most recent software, Windows Mobile 6.5 had access to Marketplace.

Alibaba.com reports a 39% revenue increase

The world's leading business-to-business e-commerce company Alibaba.com announced its financial results for the year ended December 31, 2008.

The total revenue increased 39% to RMB3.0 billion in 2008, as compared to 2007. Total income of the China ecommerce company stood for 36% in 2008, compared to 28% in 2007 owing to the strong execution team and relatively more robust China economy.

Linden Lab purchases Virtual Goods marketplaces for Second Life

Linden Lab, a creator of the virtual world Second Life, announced implementation of a main action with the aims of expanding the Second Life platform. Acquisition of two Web-based marketplaces for virtual goods, Xstreet SL and OnRez means putting the latest strategic initiatives together. Moreover, these acquisitions are expected to grow Second Life economy by offering users additional convenience in carrying out virtual goods and services transactions online.

European e-retailers now will accept Chinese currency

Rahaxi Inc. has announced its partnership with ChinaPay which will allow Rahaxi to accept all Chinese-issued payment cards and thus to allow all the Chinese internet consumers to purchase European goods from European retailers. 

This is the latest in a series of agreements designed to extend Rahaxi's strategic advantages in the Chinese payments business.
