Macs are infected with MacDefender fake anti-virus that installs automatically

New malware is circulating on the Internet that infects Mac machines and tries to trick users into giving away their credit card data. According to Intego the malicious app called MacDefender hides on some webpages that use search engine optimization to spam the results of popular searches. On such infected websites users can see animation of a malware scam followed by a pop-up message telling users that their computer is infected. JavaScript on the page then automatically downloads a compressed ZIP file containing the malware.

According to the new finding of an agency that helps manage paid search advertising most Apple iOS devices including iPads, iPhones and iPod Touches fail to count paid-search conversions (i.e., clicks) because cookie-tracking is turned off.

It is known that all Apple mobile devices use the Safari as the default browser and so do Apple laptops and desktop PCs. It is also known that Safari blocks third-party cookies by default from considerations of privacy. But it is very bad for advertisers.

Apple fans will likely put aside purchasing new laptops to buy instead the widely rumored iPad tablets according to the research from US stats gatherer ChangeWave. ChangeWave polled 3314 consumers to figure out their recent and anticipated buying habits.

The survey found that 18% of the polled are very or somewhat likely to buy the Apple tablet. ¾ of the respondents acknowledged they would pay $500 or more for an iPad with only 37% expressing their willingness to spend more than $700. Some pundits have said they expect Apple to charge $999 for it.
