A new application appeared on the iTunes store to allow users to spy on their children or family members who own the iPhone. Spykey application is Windows based and is basically a keylogger that transmits every key pressed to an iPhone application (£2.99 from the iTunes store).
In the description you may read that the application is discovering cheating partners or protecting children.
Previously Apple delisted applications that spy on iPhone users. Thus, Retina's Mobile Spy, for example, is now restricted to jailbroken iPhones. |

New rumors published by 9to5 Mac say that Apple will make its iOS 5 support over-the-air firmware updates instead of the customary method based on iTunes.
Once iOS 5.0 has been installed on devices using the customary method based on iTunes, iOS 5.0.1 or whatever comes next will be pushed direct to handsets.
As 9to5 Mac notes, Apple already has this technology in place in iOS: it's how the iOS-based second-generation Apple TV updates itself.

Apple Inc is negotiating a deal with News Corp, Walt Disney and other media corporations to rent TV shows to viewers for 99 cents through iTunes, according to the sources with the knowledge of the matter. The talks are aimed at allowing viewers to rent network programming off Apple's iTunes store for 48 hours.
Meantime, the sources also report that a number of companies including NBC and CBS do not seem to be too happy about the offering because they believe it would undercut revenue they already earn through iTunes. |

Users expecting that they will ever be able to download from iTunes their favorite songs by Beatles should wait for an indefinite time because in a short term that doesn’t seem to happen. The Fab Four have long resisted the idea of digital downloads, instead selling millions of old-fashioned compact discs last year after remastering the catalog.
Apple Corps, the group's holding company has been unable to agree on terms with EMI Group, which licenses the Beatles' recordings. And then there's the unrelated Apple Inc, owner of iTunes, the world's largest music retailer. |
