Brazil plans to increase its IT spending within the next quarters

A survey conducted by Double-Take® Software that polled more than 100 IT decision makers in Brazil showed that over the next nine months the country's IT spending will significantly increase. The survey, which focused on disaster recovery and virtualization, revealed that respondents plan to increase their IT and data center investments as the economy continues its recovery from economic collapse.

London pays more to IT specialists than other districts in UK

The UK jobs site theitjobboard.co.uk conducted a poll that showed how much IT specialists including both permanent and contractor positions earn in Britain. At the bottom of the list there were helpdesk employees with starting salaries of £18,000 or contractor jobs from £7 an hour, or just £6 in Scotland. But high salaries go up to £36,000 in London or £32,000 in Scotland or £31 and £29 an hour respectively.

A recent study that was drafted by the Partnership for Public Service, a Washington-based advocacy group that works to improve government service, in association with Booz Allen Hamilton, revealed that while the cases of cyber attacks against the government increase authorities suffer serious lack of IT specialists. This poses a significant security risk to the nation.
