Baidu unveils is 30,000 applications web browser

Baidu, Chinese search engine giant, has started offering its new beta web browser that features a collection of 30,000" apps" that can quickly connect users to online games, videos and other tools.

Monday a beta version of Baidu Browser was launched. The browser is marketed as "simple and reliable", sporting secure navigation protected against malware infiltration. The browser is equipped with a "treasure house" feature, which functions like an app store.

Mozilla’s app on Apple App Store? Gives access to Firefox from iPhone?

Mozilla has submitted to the Apple App Store its browserless Firefox application. Knowing the Cupertino’s vulnerable heart that easily gets offended with third-party products Mozilla does not offer the browser itself, instead it has built an iPhone version of Firefox Sync, the browser bookmark-syncing service formerly known as Weave. This version is dubbed Firefox Home.

People would rather lose their wallet than a cell phone

According to a global survey conducted by Synovate, most people can't live without their mobiles, never leave home without them and, if given a choice, would rather lose their wallet. Calling mobile phones the "remote control" for life, the survey said cell phones are so ubiquitous that by last year more humans owned one than did not. The Synovate mobile phones survey was conducted online in Canada, Denmark, France, Malaysia, the Netherlands, the Philippines, Russia, Singapore, Taiwan, Britain and the United States.

The Pew Internet and American Life Project showed that the group which had the largest increase in adoption of Internet usage in 2005 – 2008 was of those 70 and older. Internet penetration of people aged 70 - 74 increased by 19 percent during the period, of 75 and older the increase made 10 percent. On the other hand, the amount of users of ages 25 - 29 has remained steady at 85%.
