Electracash, Inc., the California payment-processor whose bank accounts were seized in July by federal investigators in Maryland who are probing the online gambling industry, has been targeted again. This time, the Feds are going after evidence of gambling-related communications in Electracash's e-mail account with New York-based Intermedia. Electracash's chief executive officer, D. Lee Falls, did not return a phone message seeking comment.

The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc., a bank holding company that engages in investment banking, securities services and investment management, is agreed to pay US$60-million to settle a Massachusetts investigation into the mortgage securities packaging. As Mass. Attorney General Martha Coakley said at a news conference the bank should pay US$50-million as compensation to homeowners and the rest to the state. |

Ayala Corp. purchased a bankrupt US-based outsourcing company On-site Sourcing, Inc. for $9 million. The transaction was made through Ayala’s unit Integreon Managed Solutions, Inc. On-site, which filed for reorganization under Chapter 11 of the US Bankruptcy Code on Feb. 5, was created in 1991 and provides electronic evidence solutions to law firms and corporations.

McAfee, Inc. has announced the results of the research conducted by Informa Telecoms and Media and incorporated among over 30 international mobile device manufacturers. The research showed that mobile device manufacturers are currently spending more time and money on recovering from security incidents. In its third annual report published on the mobile ecosystem by McAfee has included information on manufacturers' security experiences, their problems and approaches of soling those security challenges. |
