Stocks jump after home sales data

U.S. stocks got a sharp growth, with the S&P on track to break a sell-off lasted for three days, after data showed existing home sales rose to their highest level in two-and-a-half years and investors were made believed by a Fed official's comments.
 The National Association of Realtors conducted a survey showed sales of previously owned U.S. homes rose 10.1 percent in October. The Dow Jones U.S. Home Construction index gained nearly 2 percent.

US home sales surged unexpectedly in June

According to the figures US government presented Monday, sales of new single-family homes in the country soared more than it had been expected in June. At the same time, the inventory of homes for sale fell to a more than 11-year low. 

As the Commerce Department reported, sales grew by 11% to an annual rate of 384,000 last month, while the number of new homes still for sale fell to 281,000, the lowest level since February 1998.

US housing crisis is on the way to recovery?

National Association of Realtors report revealed home sales grew for the third-consecutive month in June. Thus, increase of 3.6% to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 4.89 million properties with gains seen in all major regions of the USA was reflected. These figures provide with the hopes about possibility of housing market stabilizing. 

Recently, Ben Bernanke, Federal Reserve Chairman, stated the housing crisis seemed to be restraining.

Recession ends by Q3? One more forecast version

The National Association of Business Economists (NABE) on Wednesday released a new survey that polled 45 professional forecasters. The study showed that the recession in the US will likely end soon with job losses continuing to increase and house prices keeping to plunge. Thus experts think that an economic recovery will be more moderate than those experienced in previous downturns.
