Americans are increasingly losing their trust in Obama’s economic policy

While much of the focus of President Obama has been on health care reform over the past few weeks, the issue of the economy is still on his plate. Currently, three in five Americans (60%) would rate the job the president is doing on the economy as negative while two in five (40%) would rate his job as positive. This is virtually unchanged from last month when 39% rated President Obama’s economic job performance as positive and 61% rated it as negative.

Sharp growth in third quarter with contraction in 2010 predicted for US economy

The United States will have an "unusual" economic recovery, with sharp growth in the third quarter, but overall a modest bounce back in 2010, former Honeywell chief executive Larry Bossidy told CNBC Friday.

Generally there is a robust recovery after a deep recession, and gross domestic product will surge at an annual rate of more than 4 percent in the third quarter as inventories are replenished from record lows, Bossidy told "Squawk Box."

U.S. small businesses, representing 99.7 % of all U.S. employer firms, say they feel slighted by the Obama administration and efforts to shore up the economy, with large companies taking much of the government's attention and stimulus cash. The government decision last week against bailing out small business lender CIT Group raised fears of thousands of companies left without funding for day-to-day operations, and the lack of support showed big corporations can get bailout cash but small business’ interests are less pressing.

According to an NBC News\Wall Street Journal poll, Brack Obama`s overall job approval rating slid to56 percent, down 5 points from April. Fewer than half of respondents approved of how he was handling healthcare reform and efforts to save GM and Chrysler.

According to survey 58 percent of respondents thought Obama and Congress should focus on keeping the budget deficit down, even if takes longer for the economy to recover.
