Google launches complete version of its Microsoft Office product

Google has introduced an official version of its tool to turn Microsoft Office into Google’s own office applications. Earlier last year Google launched a beta version of Google Cloud Connect for Microsoft Office, a plugin that allows users to work on Microsoft files via Google's backend infrastructure. Now it is available as a complete product.

"You can edit a Word document’s table of contents from Dublin while coworkers adjust formatting and make revisions from Denver," the company says in a blog post entitled "Teach your old docs new tricks..."

Google will launch Google Solutions Marketplace?

Google will launch a store where it wants to sell online business software for use with its own Google Apps products, according to some unknown recourses.


It was said that the store will sell business software designed by outside developers to integrate and add capabilities to Google Apps, such as enhanced security features or the ability to import contacts. “Google eventually plans to allow customers to purchase its partners' software through the site, taking a cut for itself and sharing some revenue with the developers, these people said.

Google takes products out of beta

Google today stated that its various enterprise applications—Gmail, Calendar, Google Docs, and Google Talk—work well enough to no longer be prefaced by the beta appellation. However, Apps are considered in beta phase when they're good enough for the public to use on an interim basis but haven't quite reached the point where the company is absolutely confident in their utility.

Google Apps users get upgrade

Google Apps users will now be able to share templates together. The new feature is one of the updates that Google has made to its online applications product. The company already has a template gallery for Google Docs where people can share templates such as presentation designs and spreadsheets. But now, Premier and Education Edition Apps users can share templates privately, but only with other people in their domain.

Big Blue offers several products and services simplified by Google for users of Microsoft`s Outlook e-mail program to also use its Web-based Google Apps tools.
