A new research conducted by Benedetto De Martinoa of the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena and University College of London and colleagues and reported in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences revealed the reasons of why people fear to lose money and thus abstain from participating in a winning gamble.
"Laboratory and field evidence suggests that people often avoid risks with losses even when they might earn a substantially larger gain, a behavioral preference termed 'loss aversion'," they wrote. |

State investigators in Armenia reported that they detected underground casinos that acted under the guise of internet clubs. According to the official sources owners of the clubs were at the same time representatives and providers of electronic payment system WebMoney in Armenia.
In the course of their activity in the country swindlers managed to earn through WebMoney an amount of about $300 thousand.
Last week the national police blocked the site of Armenian version of WebMoney. According to some sources the site was shut down for an indefinite period of time.

Ausaf Umar Siddiqui, a vice president of Fry's Electronics Inc. has been arrested on charges of stealing more than $65 million from the retailer for using in gambling and paying off his debts.
