'Millions' spent on last-minute Christmas

Shoppers will have spent £951,000 per minute on Christmas Eve on last-minute shopping, research suggests.
Sainsbury's Credit Cards say 19% of the nation's adults intended to do some of their seasonal shopping on Thursday, spending about £1.37bn.
More than 13m people were expected to do Christmas Eve shopping, spending the equivalent of £57m an hour.
Financial data firm Experian said consumers were making the most of this year's final few shopping days.

In 2008, Experian filed suit based on allegations that LifeLock's activities in placing fraud alerts for consumers violated certain provisions of the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

Online spending is to rescue Britain's retail sector from crisis

The research, conducted by Experian forecasts that online spending is to rescue Britain's retail sector from recession, with sales over the Internet set to more than double to 21.3 billion pounds ($35.1 billion) by the end of 2011.

The study, commissioned by PayPal, predicts total retail sales to grow by just 0.2% for the period of 2008 to 2011. As Carl Scheible, managing director of PayPal UK, stated “The value of online retail can no longer be dismissed as a sideshow”.

LifeLock violates the law on consumer credit reports

According to The Register report, LifeLock, fraud-preventing service, induces in unfair business practices, breaking parts of a federal law governing the safeguarding of consumer credit reports. 

The finding came in a lawsuit brought by one of the top three credit reporting services in the US, Experian. The case claims LifeLock costs Experian millions of dollars every year by bombarding it with calls on behalf of customers who have signed up for a $10 per-month service.
