A fall in UK GDP unseen since 1945 to be posted for this year

According to Ernst & Young ITEM Club summer forecast, UK gross domestic product is likely to decrease by 4.5 percent this year, the largest decline since 1945. A "subdued recovery" of half a percentage point is likely to follow for the UK economy next year, but a sustainable improvement will only be attained when world trade starts to pick up.

Ernst & Young study: business optimism rising among senior financial executives

According to a study sponsored by Ernst & Young LLP, most Canadian financial executives believe an economic recovery is on the horizon. Prepared by the Canadian Financial Executives Research Foundation, the report found that 55.5% of respondents think the economy will rebound in 2010; 30.5% predicted that recovery would happen in 2011.
