A recent survey of 1,000 small businesses in the United States revealed that 41 % of owners pay their employees just to show up and that model is killing profitability. The survey was conducted by management consulting firm George S. May International Company.

As a result of serious glitches of a sales force commission tracking system known as Omega used by Hewlett-Packard three former employees of HP filed a lawsuit against the company.

Bank of America is to produce more "jumbo" mortgages

As Barbara Desoer, the Bank of America ‘s head of mortgage, home equity and insurance services, told Bloomberg, the bank is seeking to produce more "jumbo" mortgages, ranging from amount of 417,000 in most areas to as much as $729,750.

The bank considers that, even if it continues to integrate with Merrill Lynch, there is an opportunity to issue more of the loans with the company’s numerous customers.
