A global payments provider Elavon, wholly owned by US Bancorp, has partnered with China UnionPay to enable merchants of Elavon accept UnionPay’s debit and credit card payments in Canada with the plans to further expand into Latin America.

The partnership bases Elavon’s secure, world class international processing platform to provide merchants with the benefit of a single point of service for processing, funding, settlement and reporting for all Visa®, MasterCard®, American Express®, Discover® Network and UnionPay transactions.

State Bank of India partners with Elavon and Visa

The largest Indian lender State Bank of India is partnering with US based Elavon and Visa in a move to form a merchant acquiring venture. Last year the bank issued an RFP fpr venture partners and was granted an approval on the part of the central bank for establishing a merchant acquiring subsidiary.

The statement filed with the Bombay Stock Exchange says that the joint venture plans to roll out as many as 600,000 point of sale terminals to merchant locations over the new five years.

The terms of the deal have not been unveiled.

Elavon and KeyBank extend their partnership for payment processing

A leading global card acquirer Elavon, which provides end-to-end payment processing services to more than one million merchants in the United States, Europe, Canada and Puerto Rico, has extended its joint venture agreement with Cleveland-based KeyCorp for KeyBank’s merchant referral business. KeyBank markets Elavon’s merchant processing services to business customers through 21 geographic districts spanning across a 13-state network of almost 1,000 commercial office and retail branch locations. The agreement extends an over 10-year relationship between Elavon and KeyCorp.
