According to the latest reports an online auction giant eBay will no longer support Google Checkout payment system starting next July. Users won’t be allowed to use any checkout service except eBay’s own payment processor PayPal.

Explaining the move the company says it wants “to give eBay buyers a consistent, speedy checkout experience and to ensure support for fast-growing sales via mobile platforms...,” Todd Lutwak, eBay’s vice president of the seller experience, wrote in a little-noticed blog post last week.

Tuesday, eBay unveiled its intention to stop supporting third-party checkout solutions on June 30th of next year.

Such a company’s move seems to be wise for several reasons. 

The development of technologies has brought us to the epoch of the virtual realities and electronic commerce. eBay is delighted to announce the launch of new program "Bucks" rewards program in the US under the name eBay Bucks. 

The new program is free and open to every American eBay user. Consumers thus are enabled to get 2% back on most items purchased through eBay's Marketplace with PayPal.

PayPal plans to break in the profitable break in the Japanese market   by making an effort to enter it, despite the absence of eBay in the country.

eBay left the Japanese market in 2002, the same year it acquired PayPal, conceding the country to Yahoo Japan.

Yesterday XPRT Ventures LLC headquartered in Connecticut has filed a complaint in a federal court in Delaware against a popular online auction eBay. According to the company eBay has infringed six patents to develop its online payment system PayPal.

eBay has expressed its concerns over the proposed legislation on additional taxation of the ecommerce merchants. Tod Cohen, Vice President for Government Relations and Deputy General Counsel at eBay Inc., made the following statement upon the introduction of legislation to expand sales tax collection on the Internet, H.R. 5660 by Congressman Bill Delahunt (D-MA).

eBay announced that starting August 4th it will be removing AdCommerce placements on eBay.com and eBay.ca. It will continue to offer the service in Europe and Australia. The program allowed eBay sellers to buy pay-per-click ads on search result pages linking to their eBay stores and listings.

Leading Chinese ecommerce company Alibaba.com unveiled its plans to acquire Vendio Services Inc as a first step in its move to further expand in the global market.

Bank of America Merrill Lynch has cut the expectations for Google, Amazon, eBay and Yahoo. It has cut its price targets and now instead of $685, Bank of America Merrill Lynch has taken the position that Google will just hit $630, more than 8% decline.
