PayPal partners RHB to boost e-commerce in Malaysia and Asia

PayPal has announced its first bank collaboration in Malaysia with RHB Banking Group. Now RHB allows their customers to use their checking or savings account to instantly top-up a PayPal account. And of course, now the customers can do shopping online all in real-time and without the need of a credit or debit card. In addition to the millions of merchants worldwide that accept PayPal, RHB customers have a shopping site called WorldMart that provides special PayPal merchant deals to users of this new top-up service.

Millions of Facebook users will be able to use a new application called "Buxter". It was developed by online payment provider ClickandBuy to enable the social networking members to use real cash instead of virtual currencies when making transactions within their profiles.

Users can register and load their own "Buxter" E-wallet in euro or US dollars (with a limit of € 50,- for now).

Mobile payments company Luup no longer needs its customers?

Mobile payments outfit Luup has started asking its customers in the UK, Norway and Germany to close down their accounts.

The company explained its actions by saying it was no longer offering services directly to customers and merchants, modifying its business model to work with banks to offer the platform. Customers were given time period until 8 April to transfer their credits to their bank account or donate it to Amnesty International, the Red Cross or Save the Children.

ClickandBuy facilitated a total of more than 900 million euros in internet payment transaction in 2008. The company is anticipating a further growth in the volume transactions and cross the 1 billion euro line in 2009.

Hi-media micropayment processing company reports 30% increase in sales

Hi-media Group, a parent company of Allopass payment processing company, reports a 30% increase in sales for the financial year ending December 31, 2008.

On-line advertising sales in the fourth quarter of 2008 rose by 4% mainly due to a beneficial November month in France and to high performance in Spain and Belgium. A total of 10% growth for the year 2008 has been observed in this sector by the company.
