Ukash expands its business in Belgium

In a move to strengthen its presence in existing markets e-money provider Ukash has increased its footprint in Belgium.

Ukash launched its first business in Belgium in 2008. As of today it has added another portion of 2,500 points of sale across the country. It is also accessible online via Bancontact/Mr.Cash system, providing greater access to consumers who wish to deposit, spend or send cash online.

Fiserv launches its ZashPay enabling transfers to e-mails and cell phone numbers

Fiserv, Inc. has officially launched its ZashPay(SM), a new person-to-person (P2P) payments service enabling users to send or receive money using their existing online banking accounts. To send money with ZashPay to the US residents the users need the recipient's name and e-mail address or mobile phone number only. Money will be deducted directly from the sender's banking account and transferred to the account of the recipient. All the transactions are as safe as the conventional online banking operations.

Vodafone and Doha Bank launch mobile money service

Vodafone and Doha Bank have partnered for the launch of a mobile money transfer service for Qatar customers. According to the official statement the service is scheduled to go live early next year. Using it customers will be able to send money to friends and family overseas, or locally, via a mobile phone.

Customers should apply for a Vodafone Money Transfer (VMT) account from Vodafone Qatar in order to avail themselves of the service. After the registration customers can load money onto their mobile phone from Doha Bank e-branches or directly via a bank transfer.

Safaricom’s M-pesa system seems to be showing signs of over-subscription, says Business Daily.

Hi-Media Group, parent company of Allopass payment system, has announced today that after obtaining an approval from Belgian banking and insurance commission for its subsidiary Hi-Media Porte Monnaie Electronique (HPME) which edits the Hipay solution it became the first issuer of electronic money in Belgium.
