This Muslim country is spanning most of the northwestern end of the Zagros mountain range, the eastern part of the Syrian Desert and the northern part of the Arabian Desert. Iraq is bordered by Jordan to the west, Syria to the northwest, Turkey to the north, Iran to the east, and Kuwait and Saudi Arabia to the south. The economy of the country is dominated by the oil sector, which has traditionally provided about 95% of foreign exchange earnings.

Gemalto has announced today about the delivery of 900,000 Sealys Laser-Secured e-ID cards, commissioned by the Ministry of Interior of Lithuania. The Gemalto e-ID card is made of polycarbonate, with all personal data laser-engraved in the card, to ensure the highest level of security and the utmost durability. Turkey’s eGovernment Gateway project sets off

Turkey's 70 million citizens can now access eGovernment services through the new gateway. The eGovernment gateway also enables the public sector agencies to network and share information with each other.


E-Government Gateway offers overall 21 services through secure transaction enabled by electronic signature, mobile electronic signature or passwords. Services are expected to be offered by smartcards and imprinted digital certificates in the near future.
