The American Red Cross introduced the new site at redcrossblood.org in collaboration with BusinessOnline. The creation of the site devoted to American Red Cross supposes to steepen blood donations across the country. The organization believes the site along with some social interaction will do just that. 

Google donates the Wikimedia Foundation an amount of $2 million. The Foundation funds Wikipedia in various languages, Wikiquote, Wikibooks and other projects.

The non-for-profit organization has 33 employees in its staff and in 2009 the foundation was donated more than $6 million.

While Google’s gift will cover Wikipedia's expenses for some time there is still problems the site faces as the number of footsoldiers willing to edit the site for free is declining.
 

All Internet users are warned by the FBI, Better Business Bureau and software security companies against the online fraudulent schemes arising on the heels of a disaster in Haiti. Users are recommended to stay cautious before donating money to organizations claiming to be charities that will send financial assistance to Haiti.

"Apply a critical eye," said the FBI in a statement, and do "due diligence before responding to those requests."

With the national unemployment rate now above 10 percent, Wachovia, a unit of Wells Fargo & Company, announced it will donate $1 to Toys for Tots for every Visa gift card it sells through December 31, 2009 – up to $250,000. Proceeds will provide toys to children who might otherwise not receive them this holiday season.

Barclaycard US, the American payments arm of London-based Barclays, transacted a co-branded deal with recycling reward program provider Recycle Bank. The new Gconomy Visa card will reward Recycle Bank members with points for participating in its nationwide recycling program. When the The Gconomy Visa Card members make a purchase with participating local and national RecycleBank Reward Partners, they earn 1.5 RecycleBank Points for every dollar spent and with all other purchases they earn 1 point for every dollar spent.

On Thursday PayPal introduced its “Make It Count” campaign, featuring great deals and special offers for budget conscious consumers this back-to-school season. PayPal has also unite its efforts with DonorsChoose.org, the online charity that connects individual “citizen philanthropists” with classrooms in underserved urban and rural public schools, targeting to bolster students in need.

Western Union increased its grants through its Our World, Our Family program to $9.1 Million. It is a sixty seven percent increase compared to its commitment last year.
